PTE (Pearson Test of English)

PTE Academics i.e. Pearson Test of English (Academics), is an advanced computer based test which is taken as a proof of English proficiency of the candidates who are aspiring for higher studies in abroad as well as for immigration purpose (Australia). The PTE is authorized and commenced by Pearson Publisher of Britain and EdExcel group, which is Australia’s largest examining body. The PTE Academics is endorsed by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) and worldwide recognized and accepted by thousands of prestigious institution in the UK, Australia, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Ireland and many more around the Globe including INSEAD, Yale University, London Business School, Harvard Business school. PTE Academics is also approved by Australian Border Agency and the Australian department of immigration and citizenship for visa application.

There are 3 parts of this examination which last for approximately 3 hours comprising of speaking & writing, reading and listening with additional 10 min break after reading section. The scores are normally valid for 2 years.

PTE FAQ’s :

Q- How old do I need to be to take PTE Academic?
A- You must be at least 16 years old. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you must provide a signed parental consent form before taking the test. Above 18, you don’t need this.

Q- How many times can I take the PTE?
A- As many times you wish to.

Q- Do I have to choose institutions before the PTE test?
A- No. You can choose the institutions you want to send your scores to after you have seen your results.

Q- Why does PTE use an automated scoring system?
A- Research supports the idea that automated scoring gives more analytical, objective results than markers do. PTE automated scoring system is impartial – it cannot be influenced by external factors like your appearance, personality or body language. PTE automated scoring system means you can be certain you are being judged only on your language performance. Besides, the institutions you send your score to can also be confident that your score is accurate and representative of your actual English language ability.
